Love Story Of A Commando is truly a well driven plot that does not fail to showcase the love between Captain Virat, a Black Cat Commando and Riya, a commoner who believes in enjoying life as it is and going with the flow.
The novel starts with a heart-wrenching letter by Captain Virat that showcases the drudgery and difficulties in a commando’s life- that of constant battle, bloodshed and living with the constant pressure of serving the country and sacrificing the self for the country people.
However, there comes a time when Virat’s life takes a turn for the better when he comes across the sweet, and effervescent millenial Riya, who like every girl of her age gorges on David Guetta, Ed Sheeran and the likes. She has never known what a life of hardship actually looks like, but when she meets Captain Virat, something changes for both of them.
Though it is a brief encounter, Riya finds it really hard to forget him. However, as luck would have it, they do eventually meet, only in extremely dire circumstances when their true love is tested. The love of her life brings in her life the onslaught of violence and gunfires. Can their love survive this time and can Captain Virat really find a way to reunite with his love?
This is a contemporary military fiction with the overtones of romance. The author, Swapnil Pandey has weaved a very emotional plot, and has shown not only the difficulties and duties in an armyman’s life, but also beautifully showcased the emotions he can feel for someone and the extent to which he can sacrifice himself not only for his country but also the people in his life who mean the most for him.
