She was a sunkissed beauty
Under the basking rays
Her eyes held the flames
Of a thousand burning suns.
And my heart would beat
Stronger than the blistering heat
Oh, and our kiss!
But our kiss was ephemeral
The bliss
Even more so
Short-lived.
Perhaps the flames of passion,
Couldn’t compete with the love of my soulmate!
Who she was not
And I was so fortunate
To have found the truth.
